A Creative Weekend in Saugatuck, Michigan

A few days in Saugatuck made for the sweetest summer getaway and reminded me why I love discovering new places. One of my favorite parts of traveling is the people you meet along the way, and this trip was a perfect reminder of that.

I traveled to Saugatuck, Michigan for a content retreat, where I spent a few days with women in hospitality and content creation along the shores of Lake Michigan. Between capturing content, exploring downtown, discovering local coffee shops, gathering around the dinner table and embracing a slower pace of life, I left feeling inspired in more ways than one.

Where I Stayed: Fairview

Food & Beverage:

One of my favorite ways to experience a destination is through its local coffee shops and restaurants, and Saugatuck was full of places I’d happily return to.

Pennyroyal Café & Provisions

Our first stop after arriving in town, and one I’m still thinking about. The blueberry pancake absolutely lived up to the hype, making it the perfect place to kick off the weekend. We found ourselves coming back throughout the trip for coffee, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in Saugatuck.

Woosah Art + Coffee

Part coffee shop, part boutique and art space, Woosah was the perfect place to grab a latte, browse local goods and enjoy a slower morning before exploring the area.

Private Chef Experience

Our first evening in Saugatuck began with a beautiful garden dinner prepared by Chef Will at the house. It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend, with incredible food, beautiful details and the chance to gather around the table and get to know one another.

Ladybird

Our final dinner in Saugatuck took us to Lady Bird, and it was the perfect way to wrap up the retreat. The fried olives were an unexpected favorite, the steak was incredible and the wine paired perfectly with our ‘girl dinner’ styled meal.

Retreat Highlights

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was getting to experience it alongside such an incredible group of women. Between creating content, sharing meals, exploring Saugatuck and spending time along Lake Michigan, there was a wonderful balance of creativity and connection.

From a beautifully styled garden dinner on our first evening to coffee runs, time spent around the house and conversations that stretched well beyond the day’s plans, it was a weekend filled with simple moments that quickly became some of my favorites.

I left Saugatuck with a camera roll full of memories, new friendships and plenty of inspiration, and I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to gather with this incredible community.
