Savannah had been sitting on my bucket list for quite some time. So, when Tanner and I finally planned a long weekend getaway to celebrate our first wedding anniversary (and my birthday!), it felt like the perfect destination. Savannah is a beautiful blend of New Orleans’ liveliness and Charleston’s charm, offering a mix of history, culture and scenery that’s hard to resist.
We stayed at the Hamilton-Turner Inn, which couldn’t have been more ideally located. Positioned right between River Street and Forsyth Park, the inn made our walking adventures easy and accessible. Fun fact: this inn was the first building in Savannah to have electricity, and it’s a popular stop on local ghost tours! We spent our days exploring the city’s picturesque squares, either on foot, by bike (courtesy of the inn) or hopping on the many trolleys available throughout the city.
Savannah is truly a place where anyone can find something they enjoy—whether it’s shopping for antiques and vintage goods, exploring the vibrant nightlife, soaking in history or simply enjoying the natural beauty. With that in mind, I wanted to share a few of my personal must-see spots.
Where We Stayed: Hamilton-Turner Inn

This charming bed-and-breakfast exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly welcoming, the food was delightful and the location couldn’t have been better.
Food and Beverage

We made several coffee stops, but Franklin’s coffee was a standout. After a long day of exploring, we enjoyed a delicious dinner on our first night at the restaurant attached to the coffee shop—just what we needed after our late arrival in Savannah.
Of course, Savannah’s oak trees draped with Spanish moss are iconic, and you can see their beauty from just about anywhere you go. But what also stood out was the incredible culinary scene. We indulged at Husk Savannah and made sure to follow our research and grab a sweet treat at Leopold’s Ice Cream—both must-visit spots.
Savannah Highlights

Whether you’re planning a quick weekend trip or a longer stay, Savannah has plenty to offer. You can spend your days discovering new places to eat, exploring local art or visiting historical landmarks. There’s always something to see.
